The Underdogs

In this documentary, Paddy McKenna seeks out new & unsung sporting heroes who are finding ways to inspire and bring new layers of meaning in sport.

These are individuals and teams who overcome disability, overcome extreme or unusual forms of underdog status or who challenge prejudice or social convention, people for whom sport is more than playing games.

The documentary focuses on the Irish Wheelchair Rugby Team, the Irish homeless football team and the Irish gay football team. The Underdogs is not just for sports lovers: they will love it but sport is just the background for a collection of really interesting people to share their stories.
