“A Woman’s Heart” was released in 1992 and instantly became the biggest selling album in Irish music history. In this deeply personal documentary we trace the seismic changes that have occurred in the lives of the albums female artists and Irish women in the last 30 years. In the company of Eleanor McEvoy, we meet the album’s female artists as they take us through their own experiences in this time of sweeping reforms – divorce, decriminalisation and marriage equality, all under the ever-watchful eye of Ireland’s President, Mary Robinson. This is a film full of music, love and heart with Mary Black, Dolores Keane, Maura O’Connell, Frances Black and Sharron Shannon all sharing their unique insights into the new Ireland.
