Taken Down

Crime drama set in Dublin, in which a young Nigerian girl is found dead at a bus stop opening an investigation into her murder. This leads detectives to an immigration detention centre nearby where shaken residents are wary to speak to the police, all terrified of deportation.

The victim was a resident of the centre and at first glance the young girl’s death looks like it was the result of a robbery gone wrong but quickly it becomes apparent that the robbery was staged and that she was clearly targeted and killed.

When another young Nigerian girl from the same detention centre is reported missing, the police wonder if there is a connection and a possible serial killer in their midst. It then becomes a race against time for the investigative team to track down the missing girl, which leads them into a world of trafficking and prostitution.
